Blue Bar Quilt's First Annual Anniversay Challenge Quilt

This quilt was made for the Blue Bar Quilts Store in Middleton, WI (Madison) for their First Annual Anniversary Quilt Challenge. I saw the post on Facebook and they mailed me the challenge fabric which is the background fabric. Is it funky hexagons or mini hair combs?   I will be teaching at this shop in May and will actually get to visit this great modern quilt shop, I met Gael, the owner, at the WI Quilt Expo last September and am excited to teach at her shop and check out all the fun fabrics she carries. The contest deadline is March 31, 2018 and I was sick of keeping it a secret! Plus I mailed it to the shop so they know I made it.All entries will hang in the shop and get voted on by-I'm not sure! In the 3rd photo I drew up a design and used a black light theme. This quilt went for a donation. I used the same pattern for this challenge and it really looks quite different using different fabrics. This time I used "normal" skin tones but still embraced the wild hair colors!!

This is a close up of the face and hair. I used velvet for the lips and lots of turquoise embellishments to enhance the eyes and hair and to make the earrings.
